How to convert a PDF to JPG images

Some places only accept pictures: a social network, a messaging app, an online form, a slide. Converting the pages of a PDF into images solves that, and you choose how sharp they are.

PDF to Images

Convert a PDF to images step by step

  1. Open the PDF to Images tool and drop your file into the upload area.
  2. Choose the format, JPG or PNG, and the resolution.
  3. Leave the pages field empty to convert every page, or type the pages you want, for example 1,3,5-8.
  4. Click Convert to Images and download the picture, or a zip file when there are several pages.

JPG or PNG?

JPG gives lighter files and suits pages with photos or scans. It is accepted almost everywhere.

PNG keeps text and fine lines perfectly crisp and suits pages with text, tables or diagrams. The files are heavier.

Which resolution to choose

72 DPI is enough for a quick preview or a thumbnail. 150 DPI is the usual choice for reading on a screen and for sharing. 300 DPI is for printing or when people will zoom in, and produces much larger files.

Free, no sign-up and no watermark. Your file is processed in memory and never stored.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert only one page?

Yes. Type its number in the pages field and you get a single image instead of a zip file.

Is a watermark added to the images?

No. The images show your pages and nothing else.

How do I go the other way, from JPG to PDF?

Use the Images to PDF tool: it combines one or more pictures into a single PDF.
